Royal Amplified : Explained

Royal Amplified is Royal Caribbean's new plan to renew and revitalise its existing fleet to bring them up to the standards that modern cruisers expect. It is a $900 million dollar effort to keep cruisers interested in the older ships - as well as keeping their fleet up to date.

The plan that Royal Caribbean have released shows that they are going to cover a total of ten ships over the course of the course of four years - with the first two upgrades having already taken place on both Independence (First) and Mainer Of The Seas (Second). The whole program will cover Oasis, Freedom and Voyager class cruise ships.

The Plan For Royal Amplified is as follows:

  • Independence Of The Seas (Freedom Class) was the first ship to undergo the programme, giving us a glimpse of what could be added to the ships in the fleet.
  • Mariner Of The Seas (Voyager Class) was the second ship to undergo the extensive refurbishment - adding practically the same features as Independence (slightly different in some areas).
  • Navigator Of The Seas (Voyager Class)  will be the first ship in 2019 to see the refurbishment. This ship will be redesigned with short getaways in mind, we can expect to see similar updates as Mariner Of The Seas.
  • Oasis Of The Seas (Oasis Class) will likely be one of the most extensive refurbishments off the lot. It is likely that Oasis will see a lot of the features that her younger sisters Harmony and Symphony received at their launch. This will take place in the fall of 2019.
  • Allure Of The Seas (Oasis Class) will most likely see almost identical changes as her sister, Oasis, will in 2019. Her refurbishment will take place in Spring 2020.
  • Freedom Of The Seas (Freedom Class) will likely see additions such as waterslides and the Skypad. Independence will likely have very similar upgrades to what she will see in the refurbishment in 2020.
  • Liberty Of The Seas (Freedom Class) has already received waterslides and a lot of extras that Independence only recently received, so this upgrade is likely to be more minor - although some big things, like the Skypad, will likely still be added.
I hope that this guide has successfully explained to you what the Royal Caribbean Royal Amplified programme is. Don't forget we will be keeping you up to date with all of these refurbishments as and when we can.
