New Ships For Royal Caribbean!

Over the past few years Royal Caribbean have been announcing the modernisation of most of their fleet through the Royal Amplified programme, a scheme which is bringing some of the older vessels in the fleet up to date with the latest and most high tech ones.

This being said, however, Royal Caribbean is, as ever, investing in brand new ships all the time, with multiple on order right now - something which I plan to run over today.

Spectrum Of The Seas - Meyer Werft

Royal Caribbean currently have a total of five ships on order for delivery over the next few years, which including two brand new classes of ship. The first two will be Quantum Ultra class ships, a newer and better version of the current Quantum class which currently has a total of three ships. The third new ship will be the fifth Oasis Class, (which will be the largest ship in the world when completed, although only overtaking Symphony Of The Seas by a small margin) of which no features have been yet announced.

The fourth and fifth ships are possibly the most important to Royal Caribbean, as they are part of their  brand new Icon class of cruise ship, which is rumoured to take over the title of largest cruise ships in the world. They will be built in 2022 and 2024 and will run on LNG fuel, a first for Royal Caribbean. No details have yet been released about the specifics of the Icon class ships and I would imagine that it is still going to be a while before we see any details because the three ships before are likely to be taking all the limelight in the press before these ships get any attention.\

Royal Caribbean are always announcing new details about their upcoming (and refurbished) ships, so don't forget to always check back on the blog and our social medias to keep up to date with all the latest Royal Caribbean, and cruise related news.
