MSC Bellissima arrives into Southampton ahead of her christening!

She is the largest ever cruise ship to be named in the Port of Southampton, and her name is MSC Bellissima.

Earlier this morning MSC Bellissima made her arrival into Southampton docks ahead of her naming ceremony which is due to take place on Saturday 2nd March 2019, she was greeted by tug boats with water cannons - a traditional welcome for a new ship.

The ship is a staggering 315 metres long.

Tomorrow's celebrations include big name celebrities such as Holly Willoughby and Craig David, who will both be taking part in the naming ceremony.

MSC Bellissima is in port until Sunday, where she will depart on a round trip for just a single night, returning on the Monday morning. However on the Monday she will departing for the last time, currently scheduled to be departing at around 7pm where she will be heading to Genoa in Italy, ready to start her inaugural cruising season around the Mediterranean.
