Rumours Of Royal Caribbean Summer 2021 Redeployment

Rumours have been circulating online in Facebook Groups and forums that Royal Caribbean could be changing the deployments of six of their ships in Summer 2021, presumably due to expected changes in demand following the pandemic.

According to the rumours there will be changes made to six ships, which were all due to be operating in Europe and the Caribbean. It is important to note that at this point these are just rumours and there is currently no clarification from Royal Caribbean wether this could be true or not.

The following changes are rumoured to be happening:

  • Adventure Of The Seas: Will now be sailing from Barcelona on 4/5 night itineraries to historical Mediterranean cities. These are new itineraries and are not currently scheduled for any other ship. Adventure was originally due to be sailing 7-11 night sailings from Stockholm and Copenhagen.
  • Brilliance Of The Seas: Home porting in Ravenna (just outside of Venice), Brilliance will be leaving the states for Europe. She will now sail around Greece & the Greek islands. She was due to be sailing from Miami, Florida.
  • Jewel Of The Seas: Originally scheduled to be sailing from Barcelona and Amsterdam, Jewel will now be taking over from Adventure in operating from Stockholm & Copenhagen. She will be operating 7 night cruises to Northern Europe.
  • Independence Of The Seas: Now sailing from the neighbouring port of Miami, Independence will move from her previous summer season home port of Fort Lauderdale for the summer months. She will be operating 6-8 night cruises across the Southern & Western Caribbean.
  • Vision Of The Seas: Scheduled to be sailing from Barcelona, Vision is rumoured to be moving back across the pond to sail from San Juan, Puerto Rico. From here she will be operating seven night itineraries across the southern Caribbean.
  • Rhapsody Of The Seas: Also due to be sailing in Europe, Rhapsody will now move back to the U.S and expand RCL's short Caribbean offerings operating from Tampa, Florida.
This comes after multiple other cruise lines such as Carnival, Princess and Cunard have decided to alter their deployments in 2021 for certain ships in order to keep up with the change in demand across different locations.
